Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona

Fall while pregnant

I was walking down a staircase outside of my apartment when a stair snapped in half, causing me to fall down the stairs. Went to the emergency room because I was 9 months pregnant and they monitored, me and baby for a few hours. I have back pains, when I move from the sitting to standing, or standing to sitting. I'm currently pregnant so I had any x-rays. The complex fixed stair, took pics. Stilll having back pains although this happened a little over a month ago, am only allowed to take mild pain killers, tylenol, which do nothing to releive the pain. Want to start seeing a chiropractor, but cannot afford this, should I contact office and ask them to cover that expense?

Re: Fall while pregnant

I do not advise you to negotiate with the apartment complex further at this point. Your injury could be serious. they will not protect your rights. You should not have to ask their "permission" to see a doctor.

In the cases of falls at apartment complexes I have handled I have been successful in getting medical bills paid by premises insurance, and on top of that making a claim for the injured person's injury and disability. There are some important evidentiary matters that need to be attended to. And it is important to document some facts of the case, and perhaps get evidence from neighbors.

We offer free, no obligation consultations at 480.835.1500. For more imformation see our blog at JenkinsLawCenter.blogspot.com

In 30 years of practice I have seen many fall cases at apartments, and would be glad to answer personally all additional questions you have.
