Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona
Filing claim against family estate not settled
My adoptive father recently passed last month. Due to his alcoholism, verbal an emotional abuse, molestation at ages 14-17, and , I have been in an out of therapy and on medications since my teenage years. His death had a unexpected and devatating effect on me and I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have been told that this is common to victims when their abuser passes. The abuse is well documented and I have witnesses and evidence to support my allegations. I am now facing costly therapy and medication and wonder if the estate be sued for future psychiatric costs and the pain and suffering? The estate is held in a trust with my brother and I as the only heirs. My brother is trustee to the estate.
Also, I live in a different state as the estate in question. If able to make a claim against the estate, where is the best place to solicte legal help?
