Have you been injured, and if so, are you seeking compensation? Generally, in any personal injury case, two issues may be disputed: liability and damages. It sounds like the insurance companies have determined that you are the at-fault party. However, if you choose to file a lawsuit for damages (or in the alternative, if the other party files a lawsuit against you), the issue of liability will be determined by an arbitrator or jury. The at-fault party will be held liable for any damages that arise from the accident. Without knowing the specifics or your case, it's difficult to tell if you, the other party or both parties are partially at fault. If you believe you are entitled to compensation, I would advise you to contact a personal injury attorney who can review your case and provide a more informed legal analysis. Additionally, if a lawsuit is filed against you, your insurance company should provide you will legal representation to defend the suit up to your policy limits. Best of luck to you!

An insurance companys opinion about liability is not necessarily what a jury would find and is not binding in court. If you were injured in the collision, it may be in your interest to consult an attorney about a lawsuit to recover damages.
