Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona
Merchant arresting shoplifter
I work loss prevention at a retail store, and recently had to arrest a woman for pushing out over $600 of goods. She already admitted to the cirme, etc, etc.
She resisted during the arrest and I had to take her to the floor (I'm about 150lbs, she was about 160, so I had to basically get on top of her).
Am I protected if she decides to come after me for injury? I would assume that my reasonable force (again, she was resisting) would grant me immunity? The only thing I can think I did wrong was curse at her after I finally had her cuffed.
