Legal Question in Personal Injury in Arizona

no settlement for us?

was in car accident where other driver was at fault having rear ended me & rolling us over & over. 6 months later Lawyer has informed us that we will only get $15,000 settlement to be used to pay all the medical bills, which come to over $30,000. Do we not rceive any money for us?? I am insured & have been made much worse then I was to begin with. I can't pay those bills, we were not at fault!! I don't understand. Have never heard of anything like this. Now making payments on new car, was only given $2,000 for totalled out car. Now have to pay medical bills?? So confused! Help Please!--name removed--

Re: no settlement for us?

Sounds like the at-fault driver has minimum required coverage of $15,000, so that is all the insurance available.

There are options, including re-negotiation of medical bills, reduced attorney fees, etc. and the possibility of additional recovery. We can often find other insurance in these kinds of cases; this is a common occurence really in our state. Our legislature will not increase the minimum inusrance required because they say too many people cannot afford it. Victims therefore pay the price.

Additional facts are needed in this case to offer help. You are welcome to a second opinion, free of charge, by calling 480.835.1500.

Everything depends on what isurance coverage you and the other driver have purchased. It is also important to find out what assets the other driver may have.
