sueing someone who passed away

If someone is in a car crash, then a year later they pass away. A person now is trying to serve the decease for a law suit from the crash. Who is responsible?

Contact the insurance company for the party who was at fault and inform them of all developments; follow their advice and instructions. If a suit is served, provide the insurance with a company immediately.

The person's insurance who is liable for the accident is still responsible to the estate of the insured to pay the damages. I have had a couple of these.
