Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona

Can not get appraisal document

I paid $325.00 for an appraisal on my home. I have attempted several times to obtain the appraisal from the company that provided the service. I was told that only the mortgage company that requested the appraisal could authorize the release. All my e-mail requests to the mortgage company for the documents release are returned as undeliverable. The communication problem with this mortgage company began when we chose to go through a existing mortgage company for our refinance / cash out. Our current mortgage company provided an appraisal at no cost. I would still like to have the first appraisal since I paid for it, but the appraisal company will not release it. Isn't it in effect my property? How do I make them release it to me?

Re: Can not get appraisal document

Even though you paid for the appraisal, the mortgage company is the customer of the appraiser and it is up to them to give you the appraisal. You don't have a legal right to force them, you should just call and get someone sympathetic to send you a copy by being really nice, not demanding.
