Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona
Good Morning- I purchased a home in Tucson last November 2009. The home was built in 1987. The seller remained in the home as my tenant November and December. I began the move-in process mid January. There was a warped board under the kitchen sink and a long crack in the hallway concrete- neither was noted by the home inspector. Unfortunately, I was not able to be present during the inspection and my real estate agent agreed to handle it for me. Yesterday, while doing my first load of laundry in the laundry room the pipes backed up and flooded the downstairs. I'm not sure at this point if the warped board and/or the crack in the hall-way concrete are related but I am concerned about them in any case. The seller claims to have had all pipes replaced within the last year. Do I have any recourse? The inspector? Seller? Plumber who did the replacement? Thank-you for any guidance you may have to offer.

You may have recourse against the inspector, the seller, the plumber and the real estate agent. Hopefully, you are first focusing on identifying and correcting the pipe blockage to avoid a reoccurrence of flooding.
