Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Arizona
home purchase
my Mom recently put down $500 earnest money towards the sale of a manufactured home and then wrote another check for $80000. A Good Faith Estimate form was signed and truth and lending disclosure statement. She changed her mind about the purchase and now would like the $80000 refunded and Bronco Homes is not refunding it. It has been 7 days since the signing. They told her that she could change her mind and get her money back. They also told her there would be no closing fees and lied about that. Can she legally get her money refunded and in what time frame? They are not cooperative.

Re: home purchase
We constantly get people on these boards who feel they can "change their mind" after signing a contract to purchase automobiles, mobile homes, regular houses, etc. I do not know where this idea comes from.
If the contract says you can change your mind, you can follow the terms of the contract.
Generally, if you are getting financing on the purchase of a home, or a mortgage, you will be given a disclosure statement stating that you have a time limit to cancel. Your mother did not get financing; you state she paid cash.
We cannot give a proper opinion without seeing all the paperwork and contract. See a consumer lawyer or a real estate lawyer immediately.
good luck and best regards,
