Legal Question in Traffic Law in Arizona
I was cited in for unlicensed driver, uninsured driver and unregistered vehicle for riding my dirtbike through town to get gas. Since OHV don't have to be registered or insured and you don't have to have a license to ride one, should I not have been charged with some "non-legal method of transportation" on a road instead of all these other things?

In Arizona, it is not the case that off-road vehicles are not regulated at all. An off-highway vehicle is, by definition, not supposed to be driven on regular roadways. When any vehicle IS driven on a roadway, traffic regulations can be enforced. For example, even bicyclists have to follow traffic regulations when they are riding on roadways. There may be exceptions to certain statutes, but those depend on the circumstances. In Arizona, there are regulations that require the owner/operator of an off-highway vehicle to receive an official "indicia" of such from the MVD, and the fees and requirements can vary depending on the type and size of the vehicle.
