Legal Question in Traffic Law in Arizona
Moved from Arizona to Virginia in 1987. In Virginia since. Went to get a CDL license and was told I have traffic violations from 1989. Speeding, no license, registration and no insurance. This was not me but someone giving my information. Believe i know who did this. Can I prosecute them and how do I get the violations off my record?
1 Answer from Attorneys
You should contact the traffic court and learn more details, or have an attorney do so; the attorney should be able to appear on your behalf, at least initially, to reopen the case and possibly clear up the matter. But whether that will or can happen will depend on the overall circumstances. As for "prosecuting" the other person? You can't do so, but you can refer the matter to local law enforcement though it has been so long it is unlikely they can or will do anything about it.
