You must make a codicile or a new Will to appoint a new executor or personal representative of your estate. You can do so without an attorney, however, you would be penny wise and pound foolish. If your Will was properly prepared, it should have provided for successors to the person you named initially to serve as your executor. There are probably other parts of the Will that should be changed as well, if you were aware of the many other considerations that should be considered when making a Will. In addition, it is even more important that you have a durable health care power of attorney.
