Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

My cousin in Arizona passed away recently. Before she died, she put a $250 deposit down on her apartment. Now that she is deceased, the apartment complex says that because she was the only person on the lease, that no one could claim the deposit, that it was theirs and no refund was due to any beneficiary. Is this correct?

No, the Personal Representative appointed by the Probate Court would have standing to demand a refund of the deposit.
