Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

Death of Husband - First Marriage

My ex-husband recently died. We have been divorced since 1974. There was an order to pay child support, however it was never received. He retired as a police officer in Phoenix, Az. There is a sizeable estate and I was wondering if my children are entitled to anything. They are both mature adults now, however, I was just curious if there isn't anything that can be done for them at this time. He remarried two times after me, so there's alot of people involved here. He has a police officer's pension program as well as a life insurance policy but I doubt if there is a will.

Thank you.

Re: Death of Husband - First Marriage

You should file a claim against the estate in the probate court in which the will is being probated. If a will has not been probated you can initiate the proceedings as a creditor

Re: Death of Husband - First Marriage

My firm can assist you. It is first very important that you reduce your claim for child support to a "Judgment". Then, a claim for that amount can be presented against your ex-Husband's estate.

Please call for an appointment if you wish to discuss our representation.
