is executor reqired to provide copy of will to relatives

my paternal grandmother just passed away and my father is the executor of her estate. he has not given us a copy of the will or told us what is in it. my grandmother told me i was in the will. is my father required to give me a copy of the will or required to tell us if i am in the will. my grandmother used a lawyer to draw up the will and a copy was suppose to be at his office but i do not know his name.if not how can i get a copy of it?

Your father is not the executor, nor does he have any authority to act on behalf of the estate until he is appointed by the probate court as executor or personal representative. At the time he files his petition for appointment as personal representative, he must file the original Last Will. If he destroyed the Will, then you must seek out the attorney who drafted it, to get a copy.
