Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

filing a claim to an account that was left for me and my sisters

my Dad died of terminal cancer in 2006, his wife got him to sign papers that made her full benificiary of an account that my Dad has told us for 20 yrs was going to us, we closed our business to help him at his request and he and his wife agreed to pay us since we had no income except for that business, needless to say we got a lawyer that did nothing for us, we found out more information then he did. This account was the sum of our Mothers wrongful death suit back in 1987, and his wife knew we were to get it,like I said she got it, and now 2 yrs later she dies and her kids no relation at all are going to inherit our Mothers retirement and the lump sum that my Dad put away for us girls and about 15 of his friends know that is what he wanted what can I do if anything? He lived in Arizona, but died in Washington state, had only been there 10 days when he passed

Re: filing a claim to an account that was left for me and my sisters

Are you saying that your Dad's wife was supposed to leave that account to you and your sisters when she died? Was there an agreement between your Dad and his wife to do that?

Based on what you have said here, I think you're out of luck. But, you should really see an attorney that does probate work to carefully review all of the facts and see if there is anything that can be done.

Don't delay.
