Revoking Power of Attorney

My exhusband recently suffered brain damage due to alcohol poisoning; while in the hospital, a sister had him sign a Power of Attorney to take care him. From that day on, she has taken control of ALL of his money and assets and has left the actual caretaking to myself and his teenage daughter. My husband wants to know what he has to do to stop her. So, our question is: How do you revoke Power of Attorney once it's been given?

Re: Revoking Power of Attorney

If your husband is mentally competent to do so, he can revoke his power of attorney at any time in a written revocation instrument. He must give notice of the revocation to anyone relying on the power of attorney, including his sister.

If he was not compentent to execute the power of attorney for his sister in the first place, the POA should be void and she should have no power.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
