Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

I just discovered that my mother died on 1/4/09 and my sister, who is the executor of my mother's trust, not only has yet to tell me of her death, I have no idea if she has settled the trust with other family members. Do I have any recourse? My mothercreated and recorded the trust while living in AZ but she died in IL where my sister lives.

Yes, you can bring an action to force the trustee of the trust to administer the trust according to its terms, to require an accounting, to make distributions that are required by the trust agreement and so on. You may also seek discipline of the trustee or removal of the trustee, if she committed wrongdoing. The AZ courts should have jurisdication.
