Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Arizona

Trustee(s) to accept the duties

An Irrevocable Trust - how long do we (Alternate Trustee) have to wait for the First Trustee(s) to contact us or do any of the needed work? Do they have any formal paperwork to sign proving they have accepted the duties? We are all also listed as Beneficiaries.

Re: Trustee(s) to accept the duties

Impossible to answer your question without seeing the trust document. I presume the trustor has deceased, and the trustee is now actively supposed to take charge of the trust and administer it. Unless time limits are stated, they must do things within a reasonable time.

We offer free, no obligation consultations by calling 480.835.1500, but would need to have a copy of the estate documents available to read.

Best regards,

James D. Jenkins
