Accounts in POD status transfer automatically, and are therefore not a part of the estate, and the will says how the estate is distributed.

In other words, the answer is "no."

The Payable on Death (POD) election bypasses the will. In other words, the POD beneficiary gets the account, NOT the beneficiaries under the will.
