Legal Question in Workers Comp in Arizona

Doctor's Visits on Work Comp

We had a staff member injured and released to work with a slight modification. He has a follow up appointment after his ''normal'' work hours. Does he stay on the clock for that appointment? He is compensated hourly and we are in a construction-related industry. Thank you!

Re: Doctor's Visits on Work Comp

Arizona law does not require that an employee be paid regular salary during treatment for a work-related injury. I would not advise an employer to keep the employee on the clock, as you could become liable for injuries that occur on the way to/from the treatment.

The employee MAY be entitled to compensation for days missed from work due to treatment, but that depends on how much time he/she has missed since the accident, and whether or not missing work is actually necessary.
