Legal Question in Workers Comp in Arizona
hurt otj employer not pay while I leave work to go to the doctor
I was hurt on the job and my employer will not pay me while I leave work to go to the doctor. It that legal? Doesn't my company have a legal responsibility to pay for my lost time of work while going to the doctor?

Unfortunately, Arizona law does not require your Date of Injury employer to pay you for time spent at the doctor for an on-the-job injury. (They don't even have to give you the time off.) The only exception would be if you have missed more than 7 days' cumulative time from work, then technically you could make a claim for lost earnings, but I've never seen it done on an hour-by-hour basis.
Even though your employer is within its rights, it is acting foolishly, because you will recover faster if you can access your medical care, so in the long run their decision may cost their workers' compensation carrier more, and your productivity may be affected by a delayed recovery. (There is, however, also no law against foolishness.)
