Legal Question in Workers Comp in Arizona
Neck and back injury
I was injured at work after I lifted a hardtop for a jeep that weighed over 140# with my boss. I told her at the time it was too heavy but she insisted that I help her lift it from the floor to over my head. now i have herniated discs. My employer had NO insurance and they fired me when I wanted to file a work comp claim. Stating that their lawyer told them I was a liability. An MRI revealed herniated discs and that I have degenerative disc disease. I never had a back or neck problem before. Do I have a case?

Yes, you probably have more than one case! Your employer's lack of insurance exposes them to a possible lawsuit for negligence (although I honestly think that the negligence case is not as strong as the workers' comp case, and you'll have to choose your path). You may also have a claim for wrongful discharge.
