Legal Question in Workers Comp in Arizona

Work accident

About 5 months ago I had a bad work accident where I was cut in the wrist. The owner of the business told me that he didnt have workmans comp and said that he would pay the doctors bill. I was told to tell the doctor that I did it at home and that I was paying for it. The cut was very bad and I couldnt make my regular pay at work. Still 5 months later I am having trouble holding things in my hand and it may be this way the rest of my life. I also have an unpaid bill from the hospital. I feel that I have been taken advantage of. I need help to get medical treatment for my hand. Is it to late to do anything? Would some one take this case with out money up front?

Re: Work accident

All Arizona workers are covered by Workers' Compensation, and if your employer doesn't have insurance, the Industrial Commission No Insurance Fund will step in and pay benefits.

You technically have one year from the date your are injured to file your claim. That is done at the Industrial Commission, 800 West Washington, in Phoenix. Their number is in the phone book.

As an attorney, I accept most cases on a contingency (percentage) basis, so my clients do not have to come up with money up front. However, if you have not lost enough earnings to make it worthwhile for me to take the case on contingency, then we might have to make a different arrangement. The only way to find out is to give my office a call for an initial interview and consultation, and that costs you nothing!
