Legal Question in Banking Law in Arkansas
Bank took unauthorized money out of our account
We made a deposit of two checks with cash back. We recieved our bank reciept and the cash back, both were correct. The following week I was balancing from the automated phone line and it said that we had a forced withdraw. The next business day I went to the bank for an explanation. I was told that one of the checks that was deposited had been lost so the bank took that amount of money out of our account. The teller who did the transaction found the check in the ''reject'' file saying it will be corrected. Later that day the she told me that the check that was missing had actually been cashed. Our deposit reciept and cash back were both correct so we have no idea why or how the check was cashed. All we know is that we deposited two checks and got the right amount of cash back with a correct reciept. We never even got a letter from the bank until the second day of us persuing this. (11 days after the bank took out the money) The changing story and not following through with corrections make us feel that someone is trying to pull one over on us. What are our rights and how should we handle this?

Re: Bank took unauthorized money out of our account
Was the mistake corrected? Did you lose any money over this situation?
Certainly, if you have sufficient proof of your transaction, you can get it fixed at no expense to you. If you have this proof and can prove any damages, you might be entitled to this.
From your question, I'm not sure if you got the money back in your account or not. If not, let me know and we can look at your options.
