Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Arkansas
Bankruptcy
My husband and I are currently in a chapter 13 and looking to convert to a chapter 7. Reason being, the trustee says we have all this disposeable income, when we don't. We did a free online means test, and it showed we were in the negetive at the end of each month. This has been going on since last year. My question is, how hard is it to get a conversion to a chapter 7 approved?

Caveat: I practice in NY and am not admitted in AR.
Depending on the circumstances, conversion to Chapter 7 can be very easy or very difficult. Have things changed for you (i.e., loss of a job, disability, ...) since you filed your bankruptcy petition?
Bankruptcy is no longer an easy area that the uninitiated can navigate with ease; the 2005 Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention Act has made it a minefield, filled with bombs that blow up in the faces of the unwary debtor.
