legal e-mails

is it legal to send an e-mail to a company, offering my services or products and including my web site address in the e-mail?

It is presently legal to send unsolicited emails to those who have not opted out, but watch for spam legislation appearing shortly in the US Congress which will undoubtedly change the rules.

Right now, Congress is considering making laws that would prevent spam emails, but as of today, you can send an email to a company that hasn't requested it as long as they have not requested that you not do so, such as signing up to not receive email from you. In other words, you are probably okay unless they have never asked you not to send them email messages. But watch out in the future. This is possible to change soon.
