search warrent,

do law officers have to have the search warrent with them when they exacute one?? they searched my home, said they ''forgot the warrent'' one was brought about 1 to 2 hours later. they were searching the minute they came in the door. it was a no knock enter search warrent. how do i know that they had a warrent if i couldn't see it??

You are correct, they must have a warrant. I would have your attorney challenge the warrant on that basis.

They are supposed to have the warrant with them before they search your house, unless they have permission or were in hot pursuit or there was some imminent danger. I'm not familiar with a no knock enter search warrant. Did they not even knock when they entered your house?
