Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Arkansas
Slander by former employer
I was being investedgated by the F.B.I. for a federal job. and my former employer whom I once worked for told the field agent that I was fired and no longer elegible for employment when in all actuality I quit the job. I do have a copy my hearing for unemployment benefits with my former employer stating under oath that I quit the position and was not fired. What are my right's and do I have a case against that employer for Slander or Defamation? I also filed a case of decremanation at that time however I could not find an Attorney to handle the case. Could that case of decrimanation be brought in to this case as well?

Re: Slander by former employer
1. Provide the former employer's statement to the FBI;
2. If you get the job, forget it.
3. If you don't, consult a personal injury attorney in your town. The local Bar Association can provide recommendations.
