Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Arkansas
My ex threw my mail away and now my credit is ruined!
My ex boyfriend has thrown away my hospital bills and medical bills that were sent to his address. Now my bills were sent to debt collection agencies. I had no idea that I had more bills to pay because I was no longer living there. He lives in Arkansas and I live in Oklahoma. He told me one time to call and change my information at the hospital and I did that. We recieved one bill of 20 dollars for a lab fee and then nothing. He never called or tried to contact me again. The hospital never tried to call me to notify me of the outstanding bills! Now I am being called from debt collectors. What can I do? Is what he did illegal? Can he legally get in trouble for what he did?
