Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arkansas

Deceased fathers bills

Father recently passes away this month. He was the sole source of income. Now my mother is stuck with all the credit card bills. I believe some of the cards were just in my father's name. He has no Estate so now what can be done to let the creditors know that he has passes and possibly wipe away the debt?

Re: Deceased fathers bills

The credit card companies need to be notified. You need to be sure that your mother was not a cosignor, or her name was not listed in any way on the credit cards, or any other bills he had.

Did your father have no assets? No land, vehicles, personal property, retirement, etc.?

If there was anything in both of your parents names, it needs to be moved to just your mothers' name so the creditors don't take it.
