Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arkansas

Hot Check Law - Felony

It took me about 6 months to collect back pay here in Arkansas. Finally the Labor board finished their investigation, I was given a check from the business who owed me over 1500.00. I went to cash the check, It was no good. The lady at the bank tried to call the business to find out when there was going to be a deposit made, according to her, there was not going to be a deposit made. I was wanting to know what the procedures are for filing.

Thanks

Re: Hot Check Law - Felony

Basically, you take the check to the County Prosecutor in the county where the writer lives.

However, there are lots of ins and outs as to what makes a check felony level hot check or causes it to fall into another category. Your question did not fill in all of the blanks. If you would like to discuss it further, please give me a call at 1-888-260-1800.
