Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arkansas
Laws on collection
I have been paying a collection agency for 6 months @ $50.00 per month and now they say that they have to have the full balance $1029.00 by the end of this month. They said that if I didn't come up with it that there was a law that they could come in and seize the property of the people I am living with and if they didn't have origianl receipts proving that all furniture, etc. belonged to them they could sell it. He said it was some kind of Litho law or something close to that. Is that true?

Re: Laws on collection
Nope, that is not true. In fact we have a federal law on this issue, the fair debt collection practices act that prevents them from threatening you like that. Call us if we may help.
