Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Arkansas
statute of limitations, foreign judgments
I am a creditor and have a Virginia judgment that is valid for twenty years and is renewable. The judgment was obtained 19 years ago. I recently located the debtor in Arkansas. If I file an authenticated copy of this foreign judgment in Arkansas, can I seek to enforce it or am I barred by a ten-year statute of limitations?

Re: statute of limitations, foreign judgments
If the Virginia judgment is still valid, it could be registered or "domesticated" in the appropriate Arkansas court and then the appropriate enforcement action(s)could be initiated against the assets of this judgment debtor in that particular state.
