Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas
Company Funds
Quit a corporation after 7 years of work. After I quit I was still receiving my paychecks through direct deposit. I notified the company, they gave me a name of who I should speak to. I called the appropriate person who told me that the problem would be fixed. 5 months later, and three more phone calls back and forth through the payroll dept, and other depts in the company, the problem was finally fixed.
Now a police detective has contacted me asking me to call the company. I called the company, and they wish to set up a conferece call.
What are my rights in this situation? Are these typical steps that an employer takes? I am curious as to why I was not contacted directly by the company and why they involved law enforcement just to tell me to call someone?
Thanks

Re: Company Funds
If you quit you weren't entitled to the funds, that much is obvious. If you do have their money, perhaps you ought to give it back. You don't have to talk to anyone if you do not want to.
