Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas
Domestic Battery on a Family Member
My husband went to spank my 13-year-old daughter with a belt. She moved and instead of her butt he got her arm. He is her step father. We have been living together for 6 months and married for 2. I gave him permission to discipline my children as necessary. Anyway, she got angry and called the police, he got charged with 3rd degree domestic battery on a family member. What can we do?

Re: Domestic Battery on a Family Member
Your husband needs to hire a criminal defense attorney to represent him on the domestic battery. Something else to consider is that it is not uncommon for Arkansas Department of Human Services to begin an investigation in a situation such as this.
