Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas
My ex-husband best friend, who i know as well, was recently busted and charged with child computer pornography fel b. He went to meet what he thought was a 16 year old female. I have two daughters 13 and 11. both of whom think of this man as an uncle. It happened in October of 2009. I was not informed until march 2010. I asked that the friend not be allowed around the girls in anyway until his court date and we saw what happened. He was offered a plea bargin of 10 years prison, he is going to jury trial soon. We have joint custody, they stay their weekends with me and weeks with their dad. They have not seen this man since I found out. Yet I caught him texting my youngest daughter the other day. when I asked their dad to talk to his friend he got mad about me judging this man. My concern is souly for my children. I dont know what I can do or not do to keep this man from them. And especially if he is found guilty. I have text and paper work to prove the lies Ive been told and a log of their dad keeping details from me. Do I have any rights to keep my girls safe? Who do I need to talk to. Their dad loves them and is a decent dad, but his lack of judgment in this situation and others has me very concerned about what my daughters may have to face because he is blinded. Any Advise?
