Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas
Jail Time
my son was put in jail 157 days ago,in a county jail in n.centrial ar. in this time he has had no legal advice from a lawyer.we can not afford to pay for a lawyer. he is suppose to have a court appointed one.but, there has been no one there when court date comes up.and no one to ask for a bond reduction. is this fair? Can they hold him this long without a sentcence? what are his rights?

Re: Jail Time
Contact the Arkansas Bar Association. Explain your son's situation to them. Ask for a referral to a member who accepts pro bono cases such as this. Your son should have had an arraignment and bond hearing long before now. Something isn't right.
Best of luck.
