What age is legal for a person over twenty-one to have sex with?

Ripe when 18 years old.
I assume California as a location. Other states may differ by setting 21 as the limit.In California, eighteen is the age of consent.Literally, prior to that age, the minor hasno ability to meaningfully consent. A reasonable mistake of fact can be aviable defense in california. If an adult reasonably believed that the companion wasover 18, no statutory rape would be punishable. One anomaly is that one need not be anadult to be charged with statutory rape. Whatthis means is "Watch Out" if you are a couplewhere both are sixteen. One OR BOTH couldbe charged with the crime.
