Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas
rape
I have been charged with rape of a person under 14. The only evidence against me is a statement from her mother and the girl. My question is how much validity is there given to a forensic interviewer? Also the prosecutor finds it irrelevant that there is no physical or medical evidence of any kind to corroborate rape. How can he prove anything with just a couple of statments and a forensic interviewer.

Re: rape
First of all, you need to retain an attorney immediately and quit posting questions on the internet regarding this matter.
Secondly under Arkansas law, the testimony of the victim alone is sufficient to sustain a conviction of rape.
As to weight of a forensic examiner's testimony, who knows... that would be left up to the jury.
If the prosecutor is determined to get this case to trial, he or she most likely will. You need to retain an attorney or get the court to appoint one immediately.
