Legal Question in Criminal Law in Arkansas
return of bond, that was given to someone else
When a case was settleted in,Circuit Court,Criminal Division,i was told to pick up the judgement, then go across the hall to the Treasurer Department,to get back the bond i had posted, less 10%,the Treasurer Department, then informed me,they had issued a check, for $900.00,in my name, but they gave it to the defendants,in the case, they gave me a copy, they had, showing the check was cashed,i stated i had never seen this check and did not sign the back and cash it.When i first went in to speak with the prosecuter,of that county,he was in the hospital,i kept calling back, when i spoke to him,i explained everything and stated i didnt know what to do about it,or who to file charges against,he said he would go over and look at all this and get back with me,this all happened in,May 2001,still no replies.

I would contact the Prosecutor immediately. Since it was nearly 3 years ago, I don't know if they will do anything, but you can ask.
