Theft of public benefits
What is the standard punishment for theft of public benefits over 2500.00? My daughters mother is pending these charges and is trying to get ti reduced to a misd, charge instead of felony. Is this likely to happen/

It appears the crime is a Class D felony. A Class D felony can have a fine up to $10,000 and 6 years in jail.
I wouldn't say there is a standard sentence, it all depends on the facts.
