Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Arkansas

I was fired I know my boss does not like woman

I was fired from my Jail Administrator job. I know the sheriff had a big problem with a female telling him that ''that can not be done'' if he wanted to do something that i knew was going to violate someones civil rights, meaning people that where being detained in jail. He thinks just because he is the ''SHERIFF'' that i was going to do everything he wanted done, it being right or wrong. I refused to do that. He even made the statement one time ''If i would get rid of all the women working at the jail, and put males in charge, the jail would run better''. That is just part of it, I don't have enough space to tell all. I know they are an ''AT WILL'' employer, but i do not think that i had to be put through so much, for two and half years, and i went through a lot. My main question is, how much does a person have to prove, and what, if they think they where discriminated againest because of gender? By the way I was replaced with a MALE. Thank you, any help will be welcomed.

Even in an employment at will state an employer cannot discriminate against you because you are a woman. Both state and federal prohibits such conduct. I encourage you to see a lawyer. We handle such cases. Please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or at 1.800.403.7868.
