Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

How to collect a child support judgement

I have a judgement for child support and medical expenses. The defendant is self employed. How can I collect? Can I file a lien against his vehicle by myself or do I need an attorney? Can I send a writ of garnishment to someone he is working for(not an employer) but someone who has hired him to remodel their home??? CSEU is grossly uneffective in this county.

Re: How to collect a child support judgement

The best way is to garnish the debtor's wages or bank accounts, if known. If you do not know where the debtor banks or where he/she works then one can issue post-judgment interrogatories for the debtor to answer. If the debtor doesn't answer within the time period he/she could be subject to the contempt powers of the court.
