Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas
Ex-wife has custody, won't tell me where they are, and won't allow visitation
My Ex-wife and I were divorced in Arkansas, I am living in Louisiana. For a year and a half I have been refused visitation which is court ordered every other holiday and 6 weeks in the summer. She has moved 3 times in the past year and won't tell me where they are, somewhere in Texas I believe. My children have been to 3 schools (I am assuming)this year and I am very concerned about their wellbeing. I always pay my child support, infact it's deducted from my check before I even get it. How can I get visitations with my children if I can't find them and she won't let me? Also, I am told that any legal actions must be through the state in which we were divorced. Is there anything I can do?

Your remedy would be to file a Rule with the court to have her found in contempt for failure to allow you to have visitation and the court could then relieve you of the obligation to pay child support until she purges hereself of contempt. You can go to the court in which you were ordered to pay child support, or have that judgment made executory in the state where she lives. The agency to which you are paying the child support knows where she is, so you would need to rule them into court also.

As an Arkansas attorney, I would have to review your Decree before any advise could be given...
