Can you file for divorce in Arkansas if you got married in Texas?

You are not obligated to file in the state where you were married. Whether or not you may file in Arkansas depends on whether you meet the residency requirements of Arkansas law. Also, whether there is a court of continuing jurisdiction in any prior proceedings affecting the children of the marriage will also affect where you may file.
