Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas
Grandson's personal property
In September 2000, I was given custody of my 8 year old grandson. A letter was sent to his step-father requesting that all of his personal belongings be returned to my grandson. These are things that I need for him (i.e. social security card, immunization records,etc.). My grandson has also asked his step father to please return his books, toys and clothing. These are things that I personally purchased for my grandson. When my grandson came to live with me the only things he had were the clothes on his back and nothing more. We know that he will not get the clothes back, (the girlfriends son is wearing them now) but he would like the books and toys back. His step father told him he has to list them all. These are things I have given him since before he was born, how are we expected to list them? All requests have been ignored. What is our legal recourse in this matter.

Re: Grandson's personal property
You could probably get a court order requiring that the father turned over the property but you are still going to have to make a list for the court.
