Holiday taking precidence over weekend visits

Visitation papers state that a Holiday takes precidence over a weekend. My ex gets our child on the second weekend of the month (long distance agreement). When holidays such as Thanksgiving are at the end of the month and it is his holiday, does the holiday count for the weekend or should he exercise both?

Re: Holiday taking precidence over weekend visits

You two are going to be joined at the hip till this child turns 18 and maybe beyond. My best advice is quit worrying about the letter of the law and work it out. the custodial parent should always encourage a relationship with the non-custodial, not begrudge it!

I am sorry if this is not the answer you wanted, but I hope it is a dose of reality. Suggested visitation schedules are a "fall-back" when you two cannot agree. In a word: Work it out! you will be glad you did!
