Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

My husband & I are going through a divorce. The other day he was asked to bring his best friend to the office to give a deposition. His friend gave the deposition. Is this common practice? Others Ive talked to have said they didn't have to do this

Depositions are part of the discovery process in all types of litigation. However, you, as a party to the litigation, should be notified of the deposition and have an opportunity to be present and examine the witness, as well.
