Legal Question in Family Law in Arkansas

My husband and I have been married for 8 years, he has a 2 year old daughter by someone else. The child was born in AR but now lives somewhere in MO. She is on state medical insurance and they are after us for child support, the mother asked us to stay away and she wanted nothing from us. Do we need an AR lawyer or a MO lawyer do settle this?
